Bio

Pierluigi Molteni graduated from the University of Florence in 1986. Having gained professional experience through several projects, particularly in partnership with the architect Guido Canali, he set up his own firm in Bologna in 1990. His primary focus is residential buildings, proposing solutions that combine innovative technology, environmental sustainability and new ways of living.

He has designed and built many exclusive homes both in Italy (Bologna and Pantelleria) and abroad (Formentera and Crete), as well as working in the services and commercial sector. His experience of designing and creating bespoke, made-to measure living spaces, matching his clients’ requirements and personality, led to an interest in design, inspiring the “Lagreca” outdoor chair, produced by De Castelli, and the Zot stone seating arrangement for Il Casone.

Molteni has always combined his architectural design with study and research. He has lectured in the faculties of Architecture and Engineering at the University of Bologna, and currently teaches Urban Design for the Product Design study course at the Bologna Academy of Fine Arts. He writes for Ottagono and Casatrend+.
