Plugin House 2.0

The Plug-in house 2.0 develops a former project produced in 2009, enhancing engineering and technological system. The central structure consists in the garage block and the corridor. The garage block contains all terminals of the systems: photovoltaic and solar panels are on the garage roof, under the floor there’s the rainwater storage tank that collects the water from the green roofs (the water can be reused for wc flushing and garden irrigation) and the batteries to store energy.

The corridor links (physically and technologically) the rooms. The sequence and composition of the spaces are strictly related to the user’s needs. The number of the modular elements can be increased in order to answer to different needs, but it’s also possible to raise the height in order to contain more functions or more inhabitants.

The system is an urban organism that has rules of growth written in its DNA. Every transformation occurs outside in order to ensure the domestic spaces’ functionality. New modular elements are automatically recognized by the structure through a preventive domotic conformation of the systems.

Great attention is paid to environmental compatibility: Plug-in house is naturally sustainable not only for the materials and technologies used, but also because its concept allows a continuous reinvention. The Plug-in house, thanks to its flexibility,  can be also adapted to different geographic and climatic contexts.
